Cleansing the Bedroom

The most relaxing space in our homes. We spend more time here than anywhere else. Bedrooms also happen to be one of the most polluted rooms in a living space. Here are our suggestions to detoxify your bedroom and get the most restful sleep this spring. ☁️

Open your windows to let in fresh air everyday. 🌬

Consider what are your pillows and mattress made of. Be sure to limit or eliminate any VOCs from your mattress, pillows, and bed frames. 🌱

Use natural linens like organic cotton or linen and wash them with unscented, hypoallergenic detergent. πŸ’§

Be sure to regularly eliminate dust mites! This can be achieved by running your bedding through the dryer. Or, let mother nature handle those mites by hanging your bedding out in the sunshine. 🌞

Spritz your pillows and sheets with a botanical spray, like our Lavender Toner, before you crawl into bed for a relaxing, aromatherapeutic affect. ✨

Leave your wireless devices outside the bedroom and turn off your router before bed. Those invisible electromagnetic waves negatively affect your own vibrational frequency and lead to sleep disruptions. γ€°

Clear the clutter! A lot of that starts in our own drawers. Our rule of thumb: if you haven’t worn it in a year, you won’t miss it. We love @mariekondo methods for drawer organization. 🀍

Make sure your room is dark when it's time to rest! Even through closed eyelids, light pollution can send the wrong messages to the brain. πŸŒ™
